4Cyte Pathology Collection Centre
The practice’s onsite pathology collection centre is operated by 4Cyte, an independent, comprehensive specialist pathology service.
4Cyte’s experienced collectors provide full range of pathology collection services including:

● Urea Breath Testing
● Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring*
● Holter Monitoring *
* Bookings are only required for Ambulatory Blood Pressure and Holter Monitoring services.
The collection centre hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 1.30 pm and Saturday 9.00 am – 12.00pm

COMMON QUESTIONS
How can I make an appointment?
All of our doctors' consultations are by appointment, except for emergencies. You can make an appointment by going to the Health Engine website or clicking on the button at the top of this page,
You can also phone us on 9660 7208. Our reception hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. We are closed on Sundays and all public holidays.
Should you require an after hours consultation, you may attend the GP casualty located at Balmain hospital which is open 8 am to 10 pm, 7 days/week including public holidays.
If your doctor is unavailable, you are welcome to see any other doctor in the practice, or you can book ahead for your preferred doctor's next session.

What is your billing policy?
Annandale Family Doctors is generally a private billing practice. Offering a high standard of medical care requires substantial resources and time. Unfortunately, the Medicare rebates have not kept pace with the costs involved in delivering quality care. As a result, there is a gap fee between the fee charged and the rebate the patient receives from Medicare (see table here).
Dr Daniel Chalmers will bulk bill Veterans Affairs Patients, Pensioners and Children under 5 years old. The other doctors at the Practice will no longer be Bulk billing any patients. If any patients are suffering from temporary financial hardship you must discuss this with your doctor since all billing is at the discretion of the consulting doctor.
On Weekends there is no Bulk Billing. The full fee will be charged for all patients including children under 5 along with the processing of the Medicare rebate.
We ask that all accounts are paid at the time of consultation. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Cash and EFTPOS.
The fee charged for a consultation is dependent on the level of complexity involved in the appointment, not just the time taken. There may also be further or varied charges for other items, such as Procedures, Insurance Medicals and Vaccinations. If you are unsure about any potential charges, please speak to the receptionist when making an appointment or the doctor during your consultation.
How do I get a prescription or referral?
Any patient who needs a repeat Prescription or new Referral for a Specialist can do this by coming in to see the doctor or by making a telehealth appointment. For a telehealth appointment, the doctor will call you on your preferred number around time of your appointment. The fee for a telehealth appointment is dependent on the amount of time it takes to complete the call.
Do you provide home or nursing home visits?
The practice provides home visits for patients whose medical condition prevent them from attending the practice. Please ring in the morning to request the visit. We also visit patients in some local Nursing homes.

Do you provide mental health plans?
Mental health plans are available for patients suffering a mental health condition like anxiety or depression. After your GP has completed your plan, you can be referred to a private psychologist and will be able to receive medicare rebates.
However this plan takes time to prepare so please ask for a long appointment when you ring up or book online.
Do you provide enhanced primary care plans?
These are available for patients who have ongoing chronic medical conditions, who have multiple health care practitioners involved with their care. Your GP will complete the plan and you will then be entitled to receive a Medicare rebate for 5 allied health visits. Please book for a long appointment when you book for this plan.
Can you provide Pathology tests?
4Cyte Pathology has a collection centre in our practice, open from 8.30am to 1.30 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 12 pm Saturdays.
